The problem with the #MultiverseSaga is that there aren’t points to anchor each stage of things the way there were with the #Avengers movies every so often.

This film has an additional problem in that it was supposed to come before the two final Avenger films, but came after them, plus the fact it should have happened even longer before that. But, hey, women in #Marvel films get fewer opportunities no matter what, right? ‘It’s Chinatown, Jake!’

Sometimes there are no villains, no heroes, just victims.

Compromise is a double-edged sword, and that’s just the ‘best case’ scenario.

Enough aphorisms.

There’s a whole bunch of complicated stuff going on in here, chief being the question of what ‘freedom’ and ‘responsibility’ actually look like.

Plus some answers to ‘if [x] and [y] got into a fight, who would win?’

Owing to the earlier Thor and #Avengers pictures, understanding the plot here is all the easier. Which is good, because — yowza! — there’s a shed-load of complexity here, what with Aether and Dark Elves and Eric Selvig not wearing trousers.

Jane becomes the MacGuffin, and a few other things are under-developed, but as it’s basically a Thor-show, it’s to be expected.

Worthwhile, and important to follow Loki’s development.

Everything before was to set up this. The #Avengers team is formed, the Big Bad is fought, the danger has passed.

Or has it…?

There are layers of material being revealed here, much of which are explored further on, but S.H.I.E.L.D. Is not the squeaky clean org that naïve Steve Rogers thought they were. What government agency is, after all?

Throughout the action, there’s great writing and acting.
