(((Cindy Weinstein)))<p>I was so lucky to get to go this summer to Sylvia Beach's Shakespeare and Company, the iconic Paris bookstore. that opened in 1919 The line, to my delight, was incredibly long and everyone was happily waiting to check out the gems inside. Especially impressive to me were the collection of <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/Beat" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Beat</span></a> writers, Paul <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/Auster" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Auster</span></a> and Vladimir <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/Nabokov" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Nabokov</span></a> novels. Flipboard News Desk<p>Democrats got a little bit of good news today when media outlets projected two women will win U.S. Senate seats in Michigan and Wisconsin. Interestingly, both states went for Donald Trump, so a significant portion of voters cast split tickets.</p><p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://threads.net/@newrepublic/" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>newrepublic</span></a></span> reports on Sen.-elect Elissa Slotkin: <a href="https://flip.it/01-tE6" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">flip.it/01-tE6</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>And the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports on Sen. Anne Fisher<p><span class="h-card"><a href="https://federated.press/@Sameagle" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>Sameagle</span></a></span> <br>My understanding is that the guns were left laying on an open table when she walked away to do other filming duties. She left them unchecked &amp; unsecured. The Asst Dir grabbed a gun himself, then handed it to <a href="https://mstdn.party/tags/Baldwin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Baldwin</span></a> .</p><p>As my daughter tells me (at least on the stage), NO ONE is supposed to hand ANY gun to an actor except the Armourer. The Asst Dir didn't want to wait for her to come back, picked up the gun without her knowledge or permission, and violated safety rules in that, too.</p>
Anne Fisher<p><span class="h-card"><a href="https://federated.press/@Sameagle" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>Sameagle</span></a></span> <br>Someone is dead, someone was shot, it made the national headlines. That guaranteed criminal charges the day it happened. No DA worth their salt can let this go without some kind of trial. The only questions were what the charges were going to be and who was getting charged.</p><p>Now the DA can try the case and leave it in the hands of a jury. That's okay. That's how justice works fairly. You need to have faith that justice will be done honorably. If <a href="https://mstdn.party/tags/Baldwin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Baldwin</span></a> is innocent, he'll walk free.</p>
Anne Fisher<p><span class="h-card"><a href="https://federated.press/@Sameagle" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>Sameagle</span></a></span> <br>Again, it was SEVERAL people who had to screw up. But if ANY of those people had done there job correctly, no one would be dead.</p><p>Ultimately, "the buck stops here" and <a href="https://mstdn.party/tags/Baldwin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Baldwin</span></a> is the producer, so it falls on him.</p>
Anne Fisher<p><span class="h-card"><a href="https://federated.press/@Sameagle" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>Sameagle</span></a></span> <br>Watch the video link I posted.</p><p>SEVERAL people had to mess up for this to have happened. As much as I admire him, <a href="https://mstdn.party/tags/AlecBaldwin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AlecBaldwin</span></a> did have responsibility as a producer, to ensure safety was prioritized on his set. But many crew people walked out because they felt it was unsafe. Such a protest is very unusual, because safety is usually valued.</p><p>As an actor, <a href="https://mstdn.party/tags/Baldwin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Baldwin</span></a> is supposed to check his weapons, and/or ask to have them checked in front of him. He did not do that.</p>
