Jonathan Matthews<p>Today I went on a ~23km <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/hike" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hike</span></a> up and down the North East <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/coast" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>coast</span></a> between <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Tynemouth" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tynemouth</span></a> and <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Blyth" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Blyth</span></a>, and then back to <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/WhitleyBay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WhitleyBay</span></a>. Frantic 🇬🇧 + 🇪🇺<p>Blackstone wants to plug hyperscale datacenter into former Britishvolt battery site in Blyth.</p><p>This would be good news for the North East economy, not as many jobs as a production line perhaps. It could however be a kickstart for the area if they are allowed to build a solar and wind farm at the same time.
