Dear Fediverse, I am looking for a super simple streaming tool that is just as brilliant as OBS, but only for the use case of streaming a presentation (yes pptx is still dominant 😞).

But webcam on, select presentation..and GO GO GO!

There may be a config button on it.. but for the stimulation of more (live) broadcasting via PeerTube that is not a USP. it has to be simple above all! 95% of the use cases in my opinion.

Does ActivityPub have any "livestreaming" functionality built in / something that could be integrated? I'm exploring the idea of Subjam as part of the Fediverse. Its audio broad facilities (Icecast2 backend which uses HTTP streaming) might need to be a completely separate arm of my infra..

The core of Subjam fits well with the Fedi model. It encompasses multiple individual music communities/scenes around the world.

Was going through old physical photos, weeding out all the old 'nameless landscape and mountain' shots, prints with people on them that I now have no recollection of.... etc, as one does at this time of year.

Found this interesting one - that's my desk at work back in '96. The IBM tower behind the desk was the TV station's web server. The hardware stack on top was the ISDN connection to our ISP. At that time, local ISP's didn't offer web hosting of the kind we wanted/needed.

If you want a giggle, check out the Wayback Machine snapshot of the site.

Heh, the system specs:
'Our webserver is an IBM PC Server 320 with 3 gigabytes of hard disk space, 156 megabytes of RAM, running on an Intel Pentium 90mhz processer (with the ability to upgrade to dual Pentiums).'

#CurrentlyWatching #MediaPulse from #Thailand's @ThaiPBSNews_bot, They're a government-owned broadcaster, comparable to #PBS and @VOANews. Thankfully they seem to report fairly and without bias, and are willing to hold the powerful accountable when appropriate. Let's hope that remains true. #ThaiPol #AsiaPol #Broadcasting #Journalism #Media youtube.com/watch?v=eWPRljF96-8

#TBT #Playlist from #RadiosInMotion, very cool early-80s #PostPunk / #NewWave show on #Detroit's #WDET. Named after the #XTC classic. Very Anglocentric, but so am I so s'all good. A couple of local acts, #Cinecyde and #MarkJNorton, made the cut. Initially hosted by #MikeHalloran (maybe his handwriting?), later of #SanDiego's #91X and a few other stations. IIRC He got fired from one of 'em 'cuz he burned the studio down or something like that! 🎵 🎶 📻 👍 😁 #Music #ClassicRock #Radio #Broadcasting

Badger badger badger.

'Referring to the last 14 years of Tory rule, the 47-year-old quipped: “If a wild badger broke into your home and f***ed everything up for 14 years straight, tearing absolutely everything apart, you would think, ‘OK, you know what, we’ll worry about redecorating choices later. Right now, that badger needs to f***ing go.’”'
