#Mexico’s president offered a warning last month in response to news that #Trump planned to designate drug cartels as terrorist groups.

“If they declare these #criminal groups as #terrorists, then we’ll have to expand our US lawsuit,” Mexico’s President #ClaudiaSheinbaum said.

She was referring to a lawsuit that will be heard by #SCOTUS on Tues in which Mexico argues #US #GunManufacturers have aided in the #trafficking of #weapons used by the cartels.

#Trump made an incendiary claim when justifying Mexico #tariffs, saying that Mexican drug trafficking orgs have an “intolerable alliance with the government of Mexico.”
Federal authorities in #Mexico vigorously deny that any alliance exists.
Mexico's president, #ClaudiaSheinbaum, rejected the suggestion that her govt is collaborating w/drug traffickers, calling on the US to curb demand for drugs internally. She says her govt will introduce retaliatory measures, including tariffs, against the US.

Maybe Mexico's President, Claudia Sheinbaum, can come here and train Democrats how to stand up to an authoritarian bully. Here she is responding to the First Felon-proposed tariffs on Mexico:

"We do not produce weapons, we do not consume synthetic drugs. Unfortunately what we do have is the people who are being killed by the crime that is responding to the demand in your country," she said.
