R.L. Dane :Debian: :OpenBSD: 🍵<p>Forgive my gushing, but I'm just loving <a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/elk" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Elk</span></a> / <a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/elkzone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ElkZone</span></a> / <a href="https://elk.zone" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://elk.zone</a> / <span class="h-card"><a href="https://m.webtoo.ls/@elk" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>elk</span></a></span></p><p>Based on preliminary testing, I'd be totally comfortable with this as my main interface (at least on faster machines, as I'm fond of daily driving 10+ year old thinkpads from time to time XD) for GtS, and I wouldn't miss the Mastodon web UI.</p>
Jo Vermeulen<p>In case it's useful for anyone, I came across two nice <a href="https://hci.social/tags/Mastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Mastodon</span></a> web apps: <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://m.webtoo.ls/@elk" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>elk</span></a></span> at <a href="https://elk.zone/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">elk.zone/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a> (responsive but especially great for larger screens) and <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://hachyderm.io/@phanpy" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>phanpy</span></a></span> at <a href="https://phanpy.social/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">phanpy.social/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a> (great on mobile with nice at-a-glance thread summaries and clustered boosts) <a href="https://hci.social/tags/elkzone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>elkzone</span></a> <a href="https://hci.social/tags/PhanpySocial" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PhanpySocial</span></a></p>

I've been using <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/icecubes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>icecubes</span></a> on my iPad because it allows me to see other instances on my main feed.</p>

Tearcell Games<p>5 minutes into using elk.zone to browse mastadon, and I REALLY appreciate the Heart icon for 'favorites' rather than the star. Much more clear what's going on!</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/ui" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ui</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/mastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mastodon</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/elkzone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>elkzone</span></a></p>
Michael K Johnson<p>This has been one of the great benefits of using <a href="https://social.makerforums.info/tags/elkzone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>elkzone</span></a> <a href="https://elk.zone" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">elk.zone</span><span class="invisible"></span></a> as my web-based client, both on desktop and on mobile — it shows the whole picture without any nonsense of going into preferences and asking pretty please to show me non-mutilated pictures from the photographers who I follow.</p><p>Anyone frustrated by this behavior who would like to try a different user experience, I strongly recommend giving it a shot.</p>
