William<p>The most reliable Linux phone I've ever had was a Nexus 5 running <a href="https://floss.social/tags/UbuntuTouch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>UbuntuTouch</span></a>. After giving it a lot of thought, I can't help but think that <a href="https://floss.social/tags/Halium" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Halium</span></a> is the best path forward for <a href="https://floss.social/tags/LinuxMobile" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LinuxMobile</span></a>. Several projects have tried to make calling and audio routing as reliable on Linux phones without Halium as on Android or iOS, but it just isn't happening. (1)</p>
Luigi311<p>I finally got around to writing about another <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/LinuxMobile" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LinuxMobile</span></a> device. I was originally going to do the pinephone pro but I decided to wait for 6.11 so I can include the new camera driver. Instead I tested the <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://fosstodon.org/@furilabs" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>furilabs</span></a></span> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/flx1" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>flx1</span></a> . Its been a great phone and is one of the best working linux phones I've tested. It does have caveats so its not perfect for everyone. Biggest is US support is limited until they release new modem firmware soon:TM:. Its also <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/halium" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>halium</span></a> based. <a href="https://blog.luigi311.com/furilabs-flx1/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">blog.luigi311.com/furilabs-flx</span><span class="invisible">1/</span></a></p>
Fell<p>I just installed UBports otherwise known as Ubuntu Touch. </p><p>It's so weird. I thought it's Linux, and it kind of is, but not really. The app store has none of your classic Linux apps let alone Ubuntu packages. It's all web apps, which is fine I guess?</p><p>You can install X11 applications through a container system called Libertine.</p><p>It's very polished, though. Performance is good, animations are smooth, and the Camera works! 🥳 </p><p><a href="https://ma.fellr.net/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a> <a href="https://ma.fellr.net/tags/LinuxMobile" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LinuxMobile</span></a> <a href="https://ma.fellr.net/tags/Ubuntu" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Ubuntu</span></a> <a href="https://ma.fellr.net/tags/UbuntuTouch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>UbuntuTouch</span></a> <a href="https://ma.fellr.net/tags/UBports" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>UBports</span></a> <a href="https://ma.fellr.net/tags/Halium" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Halium</span></a> <a href="https://ma.fellr.net/tags/Libertine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Libertine</span></a></p>
