O canadense Seth Rogen conquistou uma legião de fãs pelo mundo com seu jeito de ursão amigo e sua voz de trovão. Em The Studio (disponível pela Apple TV), Rogen faz o papel de Matt Remick, um executivo idealista que se torna chefe do estúdio fictício Continental. Remick tráz os valores artísticos da velha Hollywood, mas tromba com uma nova realidade. Logo no primeiro episódio ele aprende que filmes agora não servem mais apenas para contar histórias, mas para desenvolver complexas operações misturando marketing com ideologia woke. Como Barbie.
Os episódios contam histórias independentes. O segundo parte de uma grande ideia. Remick vai assistir a uma filmagem que usa o recurso do plano-sequência. Quem assistiu à série Adolescência sabe como funciona: longas tomadas sem corte, que precisam ser exaustivamente ensaiadas com antecedência e não podem ser interrompidas por nada. Claro que o ansioso Remick atrapalha tudo. O toque de gênio é que o episódio em si é quase todo um plano-sequência.
Outra atração de The Studio é a presença de VIPs de Hollywood fazendo papéis deles mesmos. No primeiro episódio o cineasta Martin Scorcese se revela um bom ator cômico. Participam também Charlize Theron e Steve Buscemi. No elenco fixo também estão Bryan Cranston (de Breaking Bad) e Catherine O'Hara (de Esqueceram de Mim).
