TelegramLive: Ukraine🇱🇹🇱🇻🇪🇪 The Baltic States fear a possible ceasefire in Ukraine — it would increase the threat from Russia for them, reports the Financial Times. According to Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur, of the 600,000 Russian soldiers currently stationed in Ukraine, 300,000 are likely to be redeployed to the borders of Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. His concern is shared by Lithuanian Defense Minister Dovile Šakaliene. “We must not harbor illusions. Let’s not deceive ourselves that Russia will stop at Ukraine. After a ceasefire, Russia will use the time to accelerate its buildup of military capabilities. They already have a huge army with combat experience, and it will only continue to grow,” she emphasized. The Baltic states are particularly concerned about the large-scale Russian-Belarusian military exercises “Zapad,” which are held every four years. The next exercises are scheduled for this fall. 🪐 Subscribe to Live: Ukraine

🇪🇪🇱🇻🇱🇹 A ceasefire in #Ukraine will dramatically increase the security threat to Baltic nations, as #Russia will proceed with plans to re-arm and redeploy troops to Nato’s north-eastern flank, the region’s defence ministers have warned.
