Sleepy Monster in a Teacup
Humans aren't the only ones who enjoy a spot of tea now and again. Little monsters have been know to slip quietly into kitchens when no one is around and sneak a sip of two of freshly brewed sweetness. Alas, some of these tiny creatures may become so enamored with the tea, that they sip themselves silly and fall into a state of euphoria, causing all manner of behavior.

Gorgeous Monsters & Their Pets
Welcome to my new interview series. I am the official human spokesperson for the Guardian Monster Guild, editor of the "Monster Times & Review" and author of the glamorous tell-all book, "What Monsters Want". These are hard-won credentials that I have worked tirelessly to obtain. As an ordinary human being, entering the realm of Monsterdom requires a rigorous determination, and an ego that can survive all manner of taunts, threats and indignation. I have endured countless nips, pokes and licks from numerous monsters whose intent, it seems, was to provoke me into giving up. I have proved them wrong! Paper Faces - The Human Psyche: MISSED OPPORTUNITIES
FACES. We all have them. They fascinate me. Expressions in particular - from subtle to extreme.
OLD PAPER. These too share qualities of human expression. From long ago handwritten notes, aged newspapers and maps to worn paper stained with time. In this series of prints, I combine them to create whimsical "stories" about the nature of being human.

I have to interrupt our travel report from South America for a moment with a current post.

Very, very similar pictures are popping up everywhere at the moment, showing a person as a small plastic action figure, complete with various accessories originally packed in a sales package. These images are usually all generated with AI. Except for a small independent trend where artists make their own versions of their action figures; often drawn, but also folded from paper, crocheted or modelled from plasticine.

Here is my take on this phenomenon:

Midnight Monsters: A Startled Moontinkifer
Do not be afraid. Like many night creatures, they just wish to be left alone. These secretive beings often hide in the shadows, except when the moon is full and bright. The midnight moon is their time of wonder and if you happen to be in the right place at the right time, you just may witness some magical happenings. This particular midnight monster is called Moontinkifer and can be found high up in the Balkan mountain range on the border between Bulgaria and eastern Serbia . It was not easy getting to this destination, but I have found it worth the effort, expense and skinned knees. Legend says that if one is lucky enough to spot them during the day, they appear as drab, colorless creatures, almost invisible against the mountain landscape of rocks and boulders. They shine (literally) at night when they come out of their hiding places to dance. Moonlight causes a shimmering transformation from dull gray to a luminous rainbow colored glow! It is believed that the glimmer of incandescent color and magical movements is their way of attracting a mate. Otherwise, they appear to be quite shy, non-aggressive individuals, who unfortunately, startle easily.
