We’d admired those of others (including Velo Monterey rider with a $13K lightweight ebike—definitely not in our budget!). </p><p>Although a fraction of that cost—yet still far costlier than we’d ever had—a Tern NBD P8i became a necessity after covid impacted our riding ability. (In fact, for most of a yr we couldn’t really ride because we didn’t have a suitable post-covid bike.) A physical therapist who rides recommended Tern. We saw the Tern NBD—low to ground, wide step-thru, class 1 (no throttle) —at Sea Otter Classic. </p><p>But our budget couldn’t swing it.
