my sine wave experimentation last night did take me down a path that led to me making this. whatever this is. some sort of manifestation of my frustration with my own lack of technical skill? a cybernetic hallucination device made by the sleeper agent personality hiding in my unconscious?

Does anyone here have any experience with sound modulation on #pico8 ? Like LFOs, filtersweeps, phaser effects, etc.
It seems like it should be possible through manipulating an sfx's wavetable programmatically.
I tried poking a sinewave to memory and shifting it every frame but I just got some garbled mess
I feel like I'm definitely missing some basic knowledge
As part of having a better flow work on formatting items, I made this "tool" to display them. Felt a little boring so I made a cool, tweetcart style graphic. I might end up using it on the game.
Been working on some enemy sprites for the autobattler I'm working on. There's still way more I need to do, but I think I've landed on a style I like.

Currently experimenting with enemy speed/hp. Two stats tweaked and it feels like a different game. Might consider it for a different difficulty.
Procedurally generated building interiors.
Will need a bit of work on scale, and making them interesting and relevant to the type of building being explored.
But the basic idea is there.

Feb. on #picocraft brings SFX, the 2nd map out of 4, the last token fight with the help of shrinko8 super tool of "thisismypassport" on github.
Fun fact, I discovered that original warcraft 3 SFX contains english monty python references, or french "diner de con" references !
Release is coming soon, it will contain 4 maps in Alliance vs CPU, 4 units, 6 buildings packed in 3 cartridge (96Ko) ! And I hope a lot of fun ! Before that I focus cpu balancing

Game's got bunnies now, that mess with your stuff.
Really in the pit of "who knows if this is a good idea at all". Eke-ing out the dev 30 mins a night at the moment, and basically doing stuff that makes me laugh at some other point in the day.
Thing is, it has led to ridiculous, antagonistic mechanics. The bunny moving things around broke the game because it picked up the coffee cup but couldn't get tired. The coffee is there to un-reverse the controls when you get tired.
