A nice wide top to the trig point... Do we know a collie who likes jumping up on stuff... of course we do!
That's An Teallach in the background - Gàidhlig for the forge or anvil.

Drum practice on Portmahomack Brach as the sun sets over the Dornoch Firth. #scottishhighlands
That was a wee adventure!
Mistakes were made, but workarounds were deployed. We didn't need to bail.
Best thing: First time in a tent for Skye. She just trotted in and laid down where I said. She did get a little cold but doesn't like anything over her like a down jacket or bit of sleeping bag - I'd have liked a warm snuggle too.
The old #Hilleberg Akto still doing great service.
As the weather forecast yesterday was for it to deteriorate into the afternoon we had a low-level stroll on the north side of Loch Maree. It's usually the walk-in for Slioch but we carried on a little used and boggy path towards Letterewe for a bit.
A few snaps of Skye from our walk round The Mountain Trail from Collie na Glas Leitire yesterday.
After our walk today we carried on round The Goat Road. It did not disappoint. Saw lots but particularly liked this one.
I call this "Goat on a gorse bush"... imaginative eh!
Skye in a happy place - The Woodland Trail on the side of Loch Maree. And then in the Loch having a swim.
Talking of beasties, snapped these 2 lads on the way down Glen Torridon.
Skye on a rock staring at (unseen to humans at least) beasties again.
One of these fine days I'll head for Beinn Dearg which is a Corbett - the snow covered hill above her. At the far end of Coire MhicNòbaill a couple of the Beinn Eighe peaks are just visible.
Yesterday (Sunday) we had a stroll to the estate bothy at Lochivraon. I did contemplate heading up Creag Rainich but didn't. I really didn't fancy one popular walking site's route which suggests a long pathless climb across bog, ankle breaking tussocks and other unpleasantness to the ridgeline. I found a better path up from the bothy for next time.
The view from our lunch spot in Coire Mhic Fhearchair.
Nothing I've seen online prepares you for the grandeur of the place. For me, it's not just the lochan, the triple buttress, the surprise view, or the remoteness. It's everything....
A few more photies of Skye on our walk the other day to the coire round the back of Beinn Eighe - Coire Mhic Fhearchair, otherwise known as the place with the triple buttress.
Dear Fediverse, do you have any suggestions or inspiration for solo traveling in the #scottishhighlands in September - using only public transport? I’d love to get to a place where I can go for some hikes - any hints would be very appreciated!
Skye oblivious to the view keeping an eye on the beasties because I don't do a good enough job.
Slioch in the background.
Today I'm tired. Skye is laying upside down in the sunshine on her bed - situation normal!
But this was yesterday. More photos in a bit.
We had a bit of a wet walk this morning round the Woodland Trail from Glas Leitire.
There's a deer fence around some of the area and trees are regenerating slowly. It's really good to see.
And yeah, Skye likes jumping onto rocks as she usually gets some fuss as reward.
In theory the track to Loch na h-Oidhche has a number of walks along it. In practise the paths have not been maintained for many years. They've become lost to the peat bog and marshy moss and grass. I did explore one of them, once, but never again.
Having been glared at by Skye the last few walks where I've not bought food for her, I made her carry her lunch. She knows the drill and soon as we stopped she was demanding it.
