I didn't have a filter nearly good enough, so I took my old half-broken NX500, and attached what I had, hoping it wouldn't grill the gear!

Managed to get a few good photos of the partial solar eclipse between the clouds. #solareclipse #eclipse
You can also see structures (mountains, rims of craters and impact basins, etc.) at the lunar limb.
There are also sunspots (and groups of them) and solar faculae on the surface of the Sun.

Look how amazing the partial solar eclipse is this way. 
Phew – despite heavy cloud cover here in Heidelberg, there were a few breaks about 20 minutes after maximum partial eclipse, allowing me to get some pictures

The eclipse is shifting from right to left... this may be the first time I've ever managed to catch a solar #eclipse I think... trying to remember if I ever saw one as a kid, not sure. I've seen partial lunar eclipses a couple of times at least.
Reminds me of the "plasma" effect in demos and screensavers that was popular when I were a lad.
The sky is in on the demo scene? I reckon a timelapse of this would look just like it.
