My all-time favorite performance of Danny Boy is by Tommy Fleming - who I got to hear sing it live, in a tiny theatre in Naas, Ireland, from the front row, sitting next to my mom, on her first ever international trip.

We didn't even know who he was - I'd just rung up the theatre and asked if they had anyone on for the two days we were visiting at Killashee House. And the planets aligned, and there we were, getting goosebumps from that amazing voice... Still gets me the same way every time I hear it.

Ireland is built on bravery, of those who have endured injustice yet speak out for others, those who have & continue to build community in adversity, those who recognise brutality & privilege of bullying in all its forms, current & past & stand firm. We are more #stpatricksday

Inspired by a visit to The Seven Churches on Inishmore, this Celtic cross stands among rocks and grass under a night sky. A nod to Ireland’s deep-rooted traditions, where the past and present blend. What Irish places or traditions have touched you? ☘️

Happy #stpatricksday! My family is Irish American, and to us it's kinda like an expat holiday. We tell stories, eat some family recipes, and don't really drink all that much. We wear green for the fun of it but don't take it all that seriously and there's nary a string of beads or foil leprechaun hat to be seen.

Lots of Irish people seem to emigrate to Australia, apparently overawed by the abundance of snakes.

This is dangerous, because the Irish do not have the natural immunity to snakebites of Australians, who are traditionally thrown into snake pits as toddlers to toughen them up.
