Continued thread

And thus concludes this round of Next Fest demos! I play way more demos than I post about here, so here's a few more that I found interesting:

- Is This Seat Taken?
- Too Small to Matter
- Later
- Cheese Moon
- Snapshot Spirit Live!

The Bear - A Story from the World of Gra

Oh, this demo made me cry. It's a slow, interactive 'bedtime story' as the developer describes it. You help a large Bear get out of a dark cave and in return tell them a nice story.

A very sweet game, beautifully written.

"The home is where the stars are."

Stray of Lost Cat

I like to play the "hidden x" games, although I don't post about them because they're very simple and to the point. This one, however, is one of the most beautiful and detailed ones that I've ever seen!

It has a story, too - the grim reaper comes for the cat, but the cat is not having it and runs off to collect its souls/lives. And tuna cans.

Its a fun little game if you like finding hidden items!

Adventures of a Cat in Space

A short (~10 minute) but DELIGHTFUL demo! You're a cat and now you're... in space. Uh-oh!

A cartoony point and click adventure with amazing voice acting and SONGS! Yes! It's a British game and it reminded me of Red Dwarf (but family friendly). Apparently a Dr Who actor does the voices and theme song, so yeah! It's quality entertainment.

Cloudy & Stormy: Pawtastic Adventure!

This was on my wishlist for a while, but it was my first time playing it.

The art style is super adorable and the music is nice. It's a classic platformer and you switch between two cats, Cloudy and Stormy, who each have unique moves. Reminded me of Jazz Jackrabbit a little.

Overall, it is a little boring and not all that exciting to play. I'd say it's better suited for a younger audience.

(I broke the thread so I'm reposting it here.)

Bao Bao's Cozy Laundromat

Very much what it says - it's a laundromat idle game. You help panda Bao Bao start their new business!

I've only played a little bit because I'm sleepy, but it seems to be really slow and a true idle game you can just let run in the background/on another screen. The music is nice and perfect non-intrusive background music.

Paper 2 - Origami Refolded

A fantastic little game where you, well, fold origami! Very simple to play, both hypnotic and relaxing. I'm sure it gets very complex later on.

The music is really nice and I liked that it subtly changes if you're not folding quite correctly...

Cybersim: Noetic City

Hm, an interesting one! The first thing I noticed was the music, it's very Deus Ex HR. Futuristic yet relaxing.

You can choose your hacker (only one in the demo) and starting room that you can decorate. You can change the furniture colour freely!

The main gameplay is a hacking minigame. It's very simple and I was able to earn money quickly to upgrade the hacking software and buy a bunch of furniture.

It could be a more complex game, but it's a fun demo.
