Streaming the #SuperBowl has tremendous value for FOX/Murdochs. FOX uses "the Big Game" to multiply its return-on-investment it paid for the rights to broadcast it -cable, TV & streaming on #Tubi.

Watched "The Thicket", a Western set in a snowy winter, with Juliette Lewis and Peter Dinklage.
It was really good.
I very much liked the shape Lewis' villain took, very complex. Unusual character.
Very well done, I thought, for characters and dialogue.

I wanted to see if #tubi had today's #KungFuSat film "God of Cookery". These search results were, shall we say, unhelpful. I think Vampire Hookers is probably X-Rated #Monsterdon fare.
Another particularly silly #DoubleFeature: all together it was 2½ hours of very early SF cinema.
The science in the first film was awful, and the plot involved every ‘females are sneaky and evil’ cliché in the book. The production values were bad as well.
The story of the second — written by Ray Bradbury — was much better and spoke to how Authority reacts to new things from outside [SPOILER: badly]. No 3D, it was colourized.
Okay: ★★☆☆☆ and
Pretty good: ★★★☆☆
A very silly #DoubleFeature for this evening, and both pictures I’ve had on my ‘wish to watch’ list.
The first was “Rodan,” possibly the first Kaiju film in colour (certainly that I know of). Thin plot as excuse for volcanoes, æroplanes, & explosions.
The second was “The Assassination Bureau.” A thin plot as excuse for European travel, Edwardian clothing, & explosions. Also, a zeppelin.
While entertaining and fun, neither are necessary viewing.
★★★★☆ for both

An excellent tonic after a tough day distracting myself from That Piece Of News.
If you only know Mr Papa from “Wait! Wait!…” you’ll find he’s every bit as funny here as on that show. Possibly more [YMMV].
Watch if you have parents, or have kids, or your friends have kids, or if you’ve ever met someone who has kids, or were a child yourself at one time. It also helps if you’ve ever had a long-term relationship with someone.
Highly recommended.

Some of the most political, character-driven, and certainly intelligent Star Trek is found in #STDS9. Its mix of what it takes to build a new system of governance — even when under an outside group’s guidance — is fascinating to watch, as is its view of humanity.
Yes, it was SF, but that was always the box it came in, not its contents. People are what make great stories, and that’s what this show had in surplus: great people.
