Among its 11 recommendations were replacing the RCMP with a provincial police force, adopting a new approach to mental health calls and giving First Nations self-determination over policing in their communities.</p><p>The goal was to modernize the Police Act and bring it in line with the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act."</p><p>Not only did they not do anything at all on overdue & necessary <a href="https://beige.party/tags/PoliceReform" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PoliceReform</span></a> but the Horgan/Eby <a href="https://beige.party/tags/BCNDP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BCNDP</span></a> has spent more funds on sending cops to silence <a href="https://beige.party/tags/citizens" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>citizens</span></a> <a href="https://beige.party/tags/dissent" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dissent</span></a> & arrest/kidnap/illegally detain Indigenous land defenders/water protectors on their own unceded lands, than any other BC government prior.</p><p>Let's not forget that <a href="https://beige.party/tags/BCRCMP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BCRCMP</span></a> <a href="https://beige.party/tags/CIRG" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CIRG</span></a> unit was created in 2017, under Horganized <a href="https://beige.party/tags/CrimesAgainstHumanity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CrimesAgainstHumanity</span></a> regime, as <a href="https://beige.party/tags/CorporateMercenaries" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CorporateMercenaries</span></a> to protect ecocidal industry capital. The bill for CIRG services should be paid by the private ecocide industry they're protecting - not be put on backs of <a href="https://beige.party/tags/BCTaxpayers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BCTaxpayers</span></a>. CIRG doesn’t protect citizens at all.
