Rat Can't Read (she/her)Of course, the collapse of the current system opens up possibilities for something new and better! But we have to start envisioning and building that future now! I see a lot of people online promoting <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Accelerationism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Accelerationism</a> in the assumption that as things get worse, people will just somehow figure it out and it'll be better. I think they don't realize that a lot of <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/accelerationists" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#accelerationists</a> became <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/fascists" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#fascists</a>. It's an inherently <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/fascist" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#fascist</a> position that is fine sacrificing <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/PeopleWithDisabilities" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#PeopleWithDisabilities</a> and <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/PeopleOfColor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#PeopleOfColor</a>, the elderly, and other vulnerable folks, who are most at risk if the current system collapses. Yes, <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/neoliberalism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#neoliberalism</a> and <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/LateStageCapitalism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#LateStageCapitalism</a> are bad, but in their wake, things can get worse. They won't inherently get better unless we set out to create a better world.<a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/AnotherWorldIsPossible" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#AnotherWorldIsPossible</a>, but we have to start building those alternatives. I don't have an easy answer for how to do that, unfortunately, but I think it can be done
