MissConstrueSo, my fedi buddies are all pretty smart and world savvy, so I'm gonna ask some advice. With the understand that you are not my counsel, advisor, fiduciary or in any way responsible for any advice you may offer. So here's the deal. I've had a website since 1995. It's gone through a lot of iterations over the years, but it was the 5xxth private domain issued, and I've had it ever since. Some time ago, another company, in an entirely different business also started using the same name, only they hyphenated between the two nouns. They never reached out to me, and I didn't know they existed. Except now, they're huge. My site has been hacked and destroyed multiple times because either they think I'm them, or they're mad I'm not. I answer emails and redirect their clients almost every day.
