Managed to stop procrastinating for a bit to take some photos of my Amaryllis bloom. The bulb originally had two flower stalks but one broke when the pot took a tumble off the window ledge. The broken one still continued to bloom in water but I kept procrastinating from taking photos and suddenly it was wilting. I was being more careful with the placement of the pot after that tragic accident and now we have this bloom.

I received the bloom from a holiday gift exchange in late November. I thought it was a dud because it grew some leaves first but it pushed out a couple of flower stalks soon after. I doubt I'll be able to get it to rebloom next holiday season but I'm going to give it a try anyway.

And it’s that time of year again - pink blooms appear from nowhere - Amaryllis Belladonna
