“Lost in the desert”
The amazing sand dunes of Lençóis Maranhenses in the state of Maranhão in Brazil.
In 1981 the Lençóis Maranhenses have been declared a national park (Parque Nacional dos Lençóis Maranhenses) to protect and preserve this unique eco system. The park covers a protected area of 155.000 ha out of which 90.000 ha are covered with these pitoresque sand dunes which fill with sweet water during the raining season.

Puissant (2019)

There was more water than I've ever seen at these falls on this particular visit.

A powerful waterfall cascading down a rocky cliff face, surrounded by rugged terrain. The water crashes into a pool below, creating mist and spray. In the foreground, a few barren trees stand against the backdrop of the waterfall, adding a stark contrast to the scene.

Striated (2024)

On a mostly cloudy early fall afternoon in the San Juans, a brief clearing focused a warm beam of light on the striated ridges of the Grenadier range, highlighting the incredible geology involved in their formation.

A rugged mountain range rises sharply from the foreground. The tallest peaks are partially dusted with snow and are bathed in a warm, orange glow where the sun hits them. Soft gray clouds hang overhead, contrasting with the dramatic lighting on the summit ridges.

In 1981 the Lençóis Maranhenses have been declared a national park (Parque Nacional dos Lençóis Maranhenses) to protect and preserve this unique eco system. The park covers a protected area of 155.000 ha out of which 90.000 ha are covered with these pitoresque sand dunes which fill with sweet water during the raining season.
Sadly on 3rd of December 2019 the former president determined by decree to privatize the Parque Nacional dos Lençóis Maranhenses, Parque Nacional de Jericoacoara (Ceará) and Parque Nacional do Iguaçu (Paraná).

Have been digging deep into DxO PhotoLab for my aurora photos and have been amazed just how much better the results are when pushing lenses to the limit.

It handles noise much better than Capture One, while still holding onto detail. And the lens optimisation for my Sigma 14-24mm is just amazing. Never seen such clarity in my night shots before.

Can't believe the software can make such an impact.

Aurora in full moonlight at Grovfjord. A creek spills into the fjord below, while a wave of aurora dances above the village. The moon is bright, just above the nearby peninsula.

Dear #PhotoBubble would it be possible to *curb the hashtags* a little bit please?

For example, skip the hashtags for your hard- and software. It doesn't matter which camera you used, and which software.

That way, someone can post a question without it being drowned out by an endless stream of photos.

What I mean are hashtags such as: #Nikon #Lightroom #Sony #Fuji #Darktable #CaptureOne #Canon #Olympus #RawTherapee #Pixelmator #DxO etc. etc.
