#MythologyMonday: Nera went back from the elven mound of Crúachan to the royal hall of Connacht and successfully warned King Ailill and Queen Medb. The fact that he was able to produce summer herbs in winter not only proved the truth of his words, but also that he had travelled back in time. Incidentally, Nera went back to his lover in the Sidhe.` #Celtic

#MythologyMonday: During the Tain Bo Cuailnge, Emer complained to Laeg: `Had Fergus or Conall been sick or wounded, or had they lost their sleep, or had King Conor been bound down in enchanted slumber as now Cuchulain is, short would have been the time till Cuchulain would have done some mighty deed or have sought some magic means of healing them. Certain it is he would have gone into the fairy mounds, or through the solid earth itself; the great wide world he would have searched from end to end, until he found some plant of healing that would have saved and wakened them.` #Celtic

Surely some warrior or wise man of Ulster might have done some heroic deed to bring him back from the sore sickness in which he lies!“ #Celtic Source: Cuchulain, the Hound of Ulster, by Eleanor Hull

#MythologyMonday: After each day of single combat, for Ferdia and #Cúchulainn `their charioteers spread beds of green rushes, with pillows such as are needed for wounded men. And the wise physicians and men of healing came to heal and tend them, and they applied salves made from plants, such as wise men know, to their hurts and gashes, and soothing herbs to their wounds; and of every herb and soothing salve that was applied to the wounds of Cúchulainn, he sent an equal portion over the ford to Ferdia, so that no man among the host of Meave should be able to say, if Ferdia fell by him, that it was because Cuchulain had better means of healing than he.` #Celtic

#MythologyMonday: `For those that were alive at evening during the first battle of Magh Tuireadh, the physicians on each side used to make a bath of healing, with every sort of healing plant or herb in it, the way they would be strong and sound for the next day's fight.` #Celtic

Glass bracelets and beads found in the oppidum (#Celtic settlement) at Manching. Manching was a centre of Celtic glass industry. It was specialized on the production of seamless colourful glass bracelets from ca. 260 - 40 BC. The raw glass was imported from the eastern Mediterranean region, the colourants were added by the local craftsmen. To produce the seamless bracelets a glass bead was made and gradually enlarged with a metal rod and a cone.

#MythologyMonday: `#Credhe went with the Fianna, bringing a great herd of cattle; and through their whole length of the battle against the foreigners at the White Strand, that lasted a year and a day, she had new milk for them, and it was to her house the wounded were brought for healing.` #Celtic

#MythologyMonday: Three sisters had come from Tir nan Og, the Country of the Young, out of love for Conn Crither. „We have a well of healing at the foot of Slieve Iolair, the Eagle's Mountain," one of the siblings said, "and its waters will cure every wound made in battle. And after bathing in that well you will be as whole and as sound as the day you were born. And bring whatever man you like best with you," she said, "and we will heal him along with you." #Celtic

#MythologyMonday: `"Good Donn," said Finn, "have you knowledge of any physician that can cure our men?" "I only know one physician could do that," said Donn; "a physician the Tuatha de Danaan have with them. And unless a wounded man has the marrow of his back cut through, he will get relief from that physician, the way he will be sound at the end of nine days." "How can we bring that man here," said Finn, "for those he is with are no good friends to us?" "He goes out every morning at break of day," said Donn, "to gather healing herbs while the dew is on them." "Find some one, Donn," said Caoilte, "that will show me that physician, and, living or dead, I will bring him with me." #Celtic

#MythologyMonday: `The battle between the Firbolgs and the Tuatha de Danaan went on for four days, and there were great feats done on each side, and a great many champions came to their death. But for those that were alive at evening, the physicians on each side used to make a bath of healing, with every sort of healing plant or herb in it, the way they would be strong and sound for the next day's fight.` #Celtic
