Ta-Da! Roasted Hatch chili peppers done. Checkmark another culinary adventure thanks to @elaterite with tips from several other folks on the post yesterday. I wasn’t prepayfor how quick roasting in my oven broiler would be - 5 minutes. Or that I would hear pops as some split. Couldn’t find my many wire racks so got out the screen for baking breaded food and fries. Oh the aroma in the house! Yay! #Chilis #Peppers #HatchChilis

Help, someone mutual with me and likely with many mutuals in common described grilling green chilis and peeling afterwards. Then freeze whole in bags to use 1 at a time. Who???? Can’t find the reply post with details. I’m going to try roasting these tomorrow on the grill. The Hatch green chili’s are legendary. 2 stores got shipments Friday and both neatly sold out of many pallets full of these bagged. Only “hot” was left so I thought I’d give it a try anyway. #Chilis #HatchChilis

PSA for men who cook: After you chop a chili pepper do not – I repeat, do not – go for a pee without washing your hands like your life depends on it.

Don’t ask me how I know. Just trust me when I say chilis and penises do not mix and this is definitely not the kind of fire you want in your pants.
