RonjaChilli Survivors 🌶️ Tried to overwinter my chilli plants this year—kind of a test run. I left one group outside (winters are usually mild here) and brought another group indoors. RonjaThis chili plant looks pretty sad right now and probably won’t make it through the winter. I'm hoping a few can make it inside. Fingers crossed that most of them survive until our community greenhouse is ready! 🤞And just in case none of my chilies make it, I’ve got plenty of seeds (Habanero & Ufo), plus a new one: Lemon Drop! YvanA syringe* is in fact the best way to re-use a tobasco bottle.This is last year's <a href="https://toot.ale.gd/tags/allotment" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#allotment</a> superhot ferment. It did about 8 months lacto-fermenting. RonjaI've found the perfect new home for my chillis: our Community Greenhouse! We're busy setting up a greenhouse where people can garden together. We've already got a place, we know exactly what kind of greenhouse we want and we've got the green light from the municipality for funding this project. A friend thought he could go without, and now his hands are feeling the heat! RonjaI've been growing chilli plants since February and they've been thriving! Now that autumn is here and the temperature is dropping below 10°C at night, I've decided to bring some of the plants into my bedroom to share my space with them. And look how well they're doing! RonjaGuess what! I harvested another 400g of gorgeous habanero chillies today. I put them in the oven at 60° for 10 hours to dry them out. TauPhew! Spent two hours sifting the contents of the older compost bin, using a sieve proper for gardening. Mixed that with a barrowful of soil I had in here for the purpose, removed several large and small glass shards, a few pottery shards, including two bits of melted glass and a few ballast stones.Meanwhile beans and tomatoes grow very well, FYI  tomatoes are from a shelf, vine variety,  beans off bean bags also from another shop. Spuds have apparently failed. Chillies growing.
