It's considerably colder this morning, with temperatures slightly below freezing. So I'm back in winter boots and multiple layers, arriving at Roosevelt Circle on the dot of 7:30 and setting up my signage. Today's hand-held message is MOTHER NATURE DOESN'T CARE WHAT YOU BELIEVE. Craige arrives a minute or so later and we touch base briefly.

You might be legitimately interested in pedestrians, and not as I suspect an Exxon employee, and if you are concerned about "Silent" EVs know that that story, so so so often repeated, is crap.
Noted not hippi business magazine Forbes exposed it quite well.
And if silence were a repeating danger, audio speakers coughing politely, or playing Sousa, Swift or Seager is the solution.

Last night I slept long and soundly, waking up refreshed a few minutes before the alarm and heading out to Roosevelt Circle in reasonably fine fettle, arriving at 7:31 and greeting Craige (who's putting in extra time when he can), then setting up my big sign and holding up MOTHER NATURE DOESN'T CARE WHAT YOU BELIEVE.

It's a little warmer, a little clearer, and I'm a little better off, having slept long and soundly and woken with the alarm. I reach Roosevelt Circle at 7:30 and set up my signage, featuring the multi-colored WEIRD IS THE NEW NORMAL as the handheld message du jour. Craige is holding up a foamcore DON'T LET THE CLIMATE DIE sign which he has carefully waterproofed with packing tape, and we have a brief conversation about possible weatherproofing strategies before I go and set up, blank black side to the traffic, umbrella overhead.

Friday is colder again, a few degrees below freezing, with a brisk wind that pushes me from side to side as I walk up to Roosevelt Circle, arriving at 7:31. My big sign clamped in position, I set up my speaker and hold up LET'S BUILD A BETTER FUTURE TOGETHER. Craige arrives about ten minutes later as I'm diving into a complex intervallic thicket.
