Culross Abbey: Mellor
If only Gandalf knew about punctuation. 'Speak "friend" and enter", indeed.
Around the north end of Culross Abbey I found this pair of archways, the light in the distance catching the stonework in a pleasing contrasty way. Something about the shape of the foreground arch reminded me of Lord of the Rings.

Culross Abbey: The Banquet
Inside, there's the joy of woodwork, organ music and colour - bright light streaming through the stained-glass windows.
Outside, the window is dull with just patterns of leading visible, surrounded by extures of stone, the lovely diffuse yet contrasty light and shadow and this one decrepit warped plastic chair.

The slightly puzzling ruins of Culross Abbey, standing on a hillside above Culross in Fife. The abbey was founded in 1217 on a site that was believed to have been used for a monastery associated with St Serf and St Theneva in the 500s.
