I had coasters that I didn't like, and napkins that I didn't want to use because I liked them too much.
The solution? #decoupage !
End result: some nice new Theodor Kittelsen and Tove Jansson coasters.
I used modpodge dishwasher safe medium, not because I want to put these wooden coasters in the dishwasher, but because I wanted to protect the tissue from water, coffee, tea, and whatever.

6 circular coasters, 2 square coasters, and a coaster holder. Images used are Theodor Kittelsen's "The Aspen Bleeds", which features a dramatic autumnal tree line by a reflective body of water, and "The Water Sprite", which features a creature with malevolent vibes lurking just below the water, peeking out at the viewer with glowing eyes. The two square coasters have a colorful and cheerful scene featuring characters by Tove Jansson from the Moominvalley.
