#FediJam day 17: after putting my source code into several files like a normal person, I decided to redraw the stars (sticking to main sequence stars for now).
Some kind of walls are planned too (stardust/asteroid clouds?).
Given high_impact's limits, I don't know how I'll do banners like checkpoints or the finish line. Probably by aligning several 1px wide sprites.

While working on the full game, I took some time to optimize it.
So I updated the demo to benefit from these improvements and it now runs even better!
Also simplified the UI with single Global Quality setting + gamepad glyph + automatic settings adjustment on first launch and more...

Somehow the SVG images are still broken on the chrome browser on Android. I already asked that in the reddit Godot forum but maybe someone here can help as well.
"Don't let them stand between you and anything."
This ones from a weekly challenge. I am really trying hard to press on to my study of perspective and dynamic angles. I think its working!
Starting my GDC week off with a bang! I have just been notified that my contract at Rookery Interactive will not be renewed in 2 weeks, so I am suddenly #OpenToWork! Please keep me in mind for any writing or consulting roles. If you're at GDC & would like to meet, lmk!
I’m open to remote roles, or positions in Bangkok!
I've worked on a ton of games, comics and books, and am available for writing, consulting & editing outside of games.

It's so hard to motivate myself these days to continue the #gamedev path. I know there are a lot of people who appreciate the work you do, but recently it's just been depressing.
Another #PixelArt daily done! :) Stair to aurelia.

ENJOY!

Since yesterday I advocated strong use of defgeneric, defmethod and McCLIM's define-command, here I present
just giving lisp's defun to acl2's first order #logic.
I present a batch processing style for using acl2 both in #shell and in #lisp with a worked example.
Thoughts and opinions, gamedevs and logical types?
The gibberish on screen is not actually garbage -- it's the data loaded from a file, transferred into the REU, then transferred back to screen memory. This proves that it will work to use the REU this way.
Been working on a demo with more of the art direction figured out and the beginnings of some puzzles for Judi and Lyle to tackle! With a lot of the main mechanics sorted out, it's exciting to see more of the game taking shape. This also gives you a taste of the single player mode where you can swap between Judi and Lyle.
You'll have to use your imagination for the rest of the background for now ;)
Just tried this with over 2000+ actors on iPhone and it worked still perfectly smoothly
I wonder what the limit would be
What’s that? A game jam specially for that Minter fella, to celebrate the new game I, Robot? Hmmm. I might just have to have a go at that!
Sir Terry Pratchett co-developing an Oblivion mod, and the mod ultimately helping him play the game despite his Alzheimer's, is one of those feel-good #gamedev stories I keep coming back to: https://www.eurogamer.net/the-story-behind-the-oblivion-mod-terry-pratchett-worked-on
