I had a lot of fun with this one! And I love how the 'trees' turned out.

"The Chosen"
Suddenly, the shape appears and instantly makes you nauseous. This is not right! You don't want to go anymore. The envious crowd cheers in awe.

January 24: "Impossible objects (undecided geometry)"
I can't be the first person to come up with this technique for creating random impossible geometry, but I was pleased to figure out the details. Source code: https://editor.p5js.org/isohedral/sketches/xoG_EhH6S #genuary #genuary2024 #genuary #genuary24

Genuary 2024 Day 24: "Impossible objects (undecided geometry)"
I'm going back to one of my #inkyDays drawings for this one, and taking "impossible object" to be about ectopic pregnancies.
An ectopic pregnancy is one in which the fertilized egg has attached outside of the uterus.
It is not survivable without medical treatment.

Amazing what space bending twists are possible using orthographic projection
Genuary day 24: Impossible structures.
I've been implementing more physics, but not in the traditional way (because I want to keep this realtime and there's 1m particles here), and the result is often "interesting bugs" such as this one.

Does anyone know if the folks that organize #Genuary are doing it again this year?
I'm not seeing any updates on their site: https://genuary.art/
The connection behind Sharla's generative and textile work is so clearly felt! For #Genuary24, they even explicitly combined the two practices:

this one (#genuary24) was a fun programming exercise to try to emulate the process of weaving in a mostly stateless way, maintaining only the y axis position of the weft thread (rather than fully representing the loom state as a data structure)
Prompt for Day 24: "Textile"
I'm really into this tessellation pattern these days, both for my Genuary coded pieces and my hand drawn pieces. It's just such a satisfying pattern to play with.
Here are the posts for my supporters on Ko-fi and Patreon: https://ko-fi.com/post/Genuary-2023-Day-24-L4L5H0CXO

I've always been interested in interlacements, so I'm definitely attracted to #genuary24, "textile". Here's a sketch that generates random legal two-colour weaving patterns. All patterns are periodic, but some of them take a long time to repeat! #genuary https://editor.p5js.org/isohedral/sketches/W5VQkucSL
After several false starts, I decided to focus on texture for #genuary24 : 'textile'. Texture is something I keep coming back to this #genuary and something I want play more with in my 2d art.
