Addendum: I did not only left behinde personal connections but I left behind my #queer community, my #goth community and my #kink community.

These are huge part of my identity, these communities make me strife. Leaving meta platform is now cutting ties again.

The Fediverse™ failed to welcome new communities, to welcome different ways of using it. Social networks are about community. We failed 😞.

Neu eingezogen auf meinen E-Book-Reader: "There I drowned without you" von Nika Sachs.

Goth album of the day: Rosetta Stone - Nothing Is Sacred

I've always considered Rosetta Stone as the goth band that sounded the closest to Sisters of Mercy, and you especially heard that in their two most recent albums. However, with this new album full of cover songs released in February, they took that up to 11. The sound is so uncannily close to FALAA and pre-FALAA era SoM songs that it boggles my mind, and I love it.

The Sisters did a lot of covers in the 80s and 90s that are now available as bootlegs, and this entire release sounds like something they would make, minus the low quality recording and Andrew Eldritch. Absolute gold.

Five years ago during #COVID lockdowns in the UK, two alt DJs started a weekly music live stream, the Chaos Emergency Doof Broadcast.

Five years later, tonight is their 270th show. That's five years of Lee and Tes sharing 4 hours of music, chat and silliness with the Internet. For people like me, unable to go out clubbing because #CovidIsNotOver, it has been a lifeline of social contact and good tunes. There have been special events, charity fundraisers and more.

For their 5th birthday the hosts have asked us to invite new people to join the community. We listen on #Twitch, and (optionally) chat on #Discord. There are themed rounds, chosen at random by spinning the Wheel. It is lovely and cosy and fun.

So if you're able to listen to Internet stuff between 7-11pm UK time, tonight or pretty much any other Thursday, join them (and me) at Lee's Twitch!
