When logging into the account the main page does not show anymore the latest activities of the followed people... It may be a good idea to download all traveled and plannend #tracks as #GPX files on the #computer - just to be on the safe side.

I once again recommend to pull the *.GPX files from your fitness tracker and view them in blender!

Shown is a section of my bike bike commutes (and fun rides around town) form 2022 to today, spanning roughly at least 6000km

You can use this add on I made for that purpose. Even if #b3d is switching to the new extensions platform! Just select "Install from disc..." and you're set.

#BendingSpoons is a #PrivateEquity firm. #Komoot #bike users should download their already ridden or planned #tracks as #GPX files as soon as possible before they have to pay a lot for them (or even to get a #map update). Better alternatives to Komoot: #Routing with #Brouter , #Cyclers , #VisuGPX or #Valhalla ; (free) navigation with #OrganicMaps or #CycleTravel . Everything else (photos, etc.) is anyway a #socialmedia feature.

After various CI woes & two yanked releases due to bad metadata, I have released a new version of my #python gpxcsv package. It converts Garmin #GPX files to CSV (or to a python list that one can easily make into a pandas dataframe). The only dependency is lxml.

It works easily on the command line. eg. gpxcsv myfile.gpx or gpxcsv *.gpx

Wanderung mit Komoot, leider ist die Aufzeichnung etwas beschädigt und ich würde gerne den Track editieren und die offensichtlich fehlerhaften Wegpunkte löschen. Komoot liefert hierzu nur die Werkzeuge bei der Planung, nicht bei der erfolgten Tour. Gibt es da Tools für die Bearbeitung zum anschließenden Import als gemachte Tour?

It is genuinely unfathomable to me how #RideWithGPS, whose whole thing is storing and creating routes/gpx files, have created such a useless garbage route/gpx editor!

Going trough and fixing up routes already uploaded to Ride I have to first use some other tool to edit them, then delete them from Ride and upload the fixed gpx file again! It's such a mess.

While were talking here @sybren do you have an idea what's the preferred way to ship geometrynode setups and materials with an addon?

Is there a website or app where I can use my GPX file and it generates a video from where we hiked or cycled? I've seen this before, but don't know which tool can do this.

Why is #QGIS so inconsistent about how it imports #GPX files?

If you just drag a file into your project you can select which layers you want and you get all the feature attributes of that layer.

If you use "Add GPX Layer..." you can select which layers you want to add but you get a different set of attributes and most of the values are missing.

And if you use the Batch GPS Importer plugin (not made by QGIS) you get all NULL values for attributes except for some fields specific to the plugin.

You probably hear of #brouter, one of the easy and free to use route planning tool for people on #bicycles. The nice thing about it, is the user is not tied with any particular platform or service, and can generate routes in the ubiquitous #GPX format.

Since it's open source, there are many instances you can choose to use, but the one available from brouter.m11n.de has some cool extra options, additional profiles to choose from, and sharing routes as QR codes.
