My daughter apparently used the phrase "building yagi antennas in the backyard" in a job interview today with a company in the RF engineering realm. Not sure how it went, apparently the interviewer told her "I haven't had anyone mention a yagi in a job interview in 10 years"

Just hooked up an oscilloscope to my HF antenna feed line and it looks like I'm getting a large ~1 MHz signal from the antenna before being filtered in the transceiver to receive 14.074 MHz.

I'm looking for something (or several somethings) I could stick in the back seat of my truck to hold the FRS walkie talkies, my various 2m/70cm handhelds, spare batteries, headlamps, charging equipment, and etc. etc. etc.
It would be wonderful if it's easy to move in and out of the truck but also won't go flying if we are in an accident.

Well then. I think I might have found the MPT1343/MPT1327 Checkbits calculation function - used to figure out if the ESN on an MPT trunked radio has been illicitly modified.
The Motorola radio Labkit software (ESN Tool) that's been floating around for a while contains the algorithm.. it's in the function at address 0x401070.

Just had an incomplete contact with Antarctica on ft8... That was so close I could taste it, I really wanted that one!!!

A ham radio amateur here locally apparently fell off a trail and broke his femur (from our local radio net)
Phone did not work (out of battery or out of service).
Garmin Inreach was not charged (out of battery)
Handheld radio with GPS worked, so he was able to call out for help on 146.520 and was rescued.
