This holiday house is very very close to my heart. I spent almost all of my summers in here with my dear grandparents when I was a child and this place is always makes me feel better. It brings back lot of lovely memories.

Today we had to check the state of the house since it’s not used almost two years and my grandfathers probate hearing is near.

I’m glad that the house is in better state than we expected and hopefully we could easily preserve the condition of the house and make it liveable again.

#Private #cloud for your #memories, with apps for #mobile, #desktop and web.

#End-to-end encrypted, #FOSS cloud for #Photos, #2FA secrets and more!

Ente is a #service that provides a fully open source, end-to-end encrypted platform for you to store your data in the cloud without needing to trust the service provider. On top of this platform, we have built two apps so far: Ente Photos (an alternative to Apple and Google Photos)

I'd have some questions about #nextcloud. I'm running a nextcloud on my internal net (no direct internet access) and am wondering is it still the right solution to migrate onto a new hardware?

I'm asking, because I'm not feeling very comfortable with it, because I'm not really understanding it. I'm more a unix like person - keep it simple.

I'm using so far these nextcloud-like services:

  • contacts and calendar integrated into linux and android clients
  • lufi for filesharing
  • occasionally file syncing, but I'm also using #syncthing (the nextcloud client on android sometimes does not work like I'd expect)
  • am trying atm #memories which seems to have all features I'd like to have to migrate our families pictures from a synology nas

So for me it seems that it is #calendar, #contacts and maybe #memories.

If I'd break #nextcloud I'd break all of these applications. So I'm thinking if I could just use a bunch of applications like #lufi and #syncthing to migrate to instead of using the nextcloud framework.

I'd be happy about comments on this line of thought, motivations and arguments to keep using nextcloud and insight, practical experiences and reasons to migrate to other projects and drop nextcloud.

Should I

Don't know why but was thinking about the late comedian Jeremy Hardy. Remember seeing him at The Stables, MK back before the big refurbishment in that daft stage-in-a-barn that only had sides. It was a hot summer night with no air con & he wore shorts. I'm glad I saw him so many times. He'd be incandescent at the state we've got ourselves in these days. #Memories #UK #comedians

A reflection on a cold late winter night.
When I look at my mother these days, I see the smile that once belonged to my grandmother, because my mother is now the same age my grandmother was when I was a child. I also see my grandfather's expressions and walk.
When I look at my father, I see my grandfather's chin and neck, but my grandmother's expression and posture.

When I look in the mirror, I see a bit of all of them, and although time passes, marking my face, graying my beard and hair, and aging my skin, I know it will make me look more and more like them. And this makes the inevitable passage of time feel a little sweeter.

When I was a little girl, my adoptive mother kept her bobby pins in a little glass trinket dish w/ a fawn on the lid. It sat on the bathroom counter top the entire time I lived in my adopters’ house. I was madly in love with it. MADLY. Last week, I saw it on Poshmark. I burst into tears. Why??? I don’t know. But I bought it. & I bought some bobby pins to put in it. & I can sit & hold it in my lap as much as I want w/o anyone scolding me to put it back. 🥹 #Memories

#TimelineCleanse ...

Was thinking of old times. This is Flapjack, the first house rabbit my partner and I got together. I'd had rabbits as a kid, but that was long before.

Flapjack was a bit of a goober. But he was sneaky and smart, too - enough so that we got sick of him getting into trouble (sneaking upstairs and hiding under a bed, falling down said stairs, getting behind something and finding a whole bag of oats that he started eating while totally hidden, ...). We put a collar on him, and a little cat-bell on it, so we could hear him when he went somewhere he wasn't supposed to.

And somehow he still seemed to slip away on us sometimes. We thought we just weren't paying attention. It was a while before we caught him pulling the collar away from himself with his paws until he could get the bell in his mouth, and then he could hop away silently...

We had to make the collar tighter after that.

I've typed this before, only to lose it all before it sent. Let's try again?

How good is your memory?
Can you remember things from when you were very young?

What were your teen years like?

This is going to take time, please be patient, as I take you through , just one more story.

I screen-grabbed maps and images to go with the story. But I'm missing photos from previous attempts
