Bonus #Joke
A man joined a cloistered order, and one of the things he noticed was that the same food was served for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Also, all the meals were eaten in silence except for one elderly monk who would say "Hebrews, Chapter 13 verse 8" before every meal.

After a week or so of this ritual, he was intrigued and decided to look up this passage in the Bible.

When he did, he burst out laughing because it said, "Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever!"

The church and booze - well, that monks sometimes tend to produce beer is not that much of a secret. In Ale Abbey, it is the only thing they do. In this cute little management game you control an abbey and finance it by brewing and selling beer to a world that likes all sorts of booze.

Which means, you first have to develop a specific type of beer, by adding and removing ingredients. You need to buy those. You need to brew the beer. You need to sell it. Oh, and there is bandits. And research. And a building component. And people management. And quite some complexity which isn't that obvious from the first glance.

I still find it ... curious, but very #astronomy on-brand that one of the prime and best studies stars with earth-sized #exoplanets is named #TRAPPIST1, which comes from the telescope #backronym name that it was discovered with (Transiting Planets and Planetesimals Small Telescope), which of course is Belgian, since #Trappist #beer is a signature drink in #Belgium.

So we have exoplanets, named after a beer, named after an order of #monks, named after a city in #France.

On Friday, the #Dresden Science Night took place. This year, the Research Center for Comparative History of Religious Orders ( #FOVOG) and the Chair of Didactics of History of @tudresden cooperated and prepared a room with several stations all concerning the portrayal of #Monks, #Nuns, and religious #Orders in #Boardgames, #Comics, and #DigitalGames. It was great fun and we had lots of interested visitors! 10/10, would recommend! #Histodons #HistodonDE #WissKomm #LNdWDD

Easthope is a beautiful place, albeit a little small. Perched upon the slopes of Wenlock edge, the whole area feels as if it’s a secret place, (after all, local belief stipulates that Wenlock Edge belongs to the fae) Its also home to one of my Favourite ghost stories 'The Burley Fighting Monks' of Easthope.
