Yes, data is leaked through bad practices, but even if passwords are only locally sourced and <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/Lastpass" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Lastpass</span></a> had a <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/selfhosted" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>selfhosted</span></a> instance similar to <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/BitWarden" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BitWarden</span></a>, after reading your post I cannot recommend <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/Lastpass" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Lastpass</span></a> at all.</p><p>If you are a non-technical user, or even someone like my grandparents, I would 100% recommend the <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/hosted" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hosted</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/Bitwarden" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Bitwarden</span></a> option. It is <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/opensource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>opensource</span></a> and tried and tested, with many audits that are publicly available. </p><p>If you are a hardcore user, and know what you are doing, by all means go the <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/selfhosted" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>selfhosted</span></a> route. I personally don't <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/selfhost" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>selfhost</span></a> at this time because I don't have a computer for a server and my <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/raspberrypi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>raspberrypi</span></a> is currently running my <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/smarthome" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>smarthome</span></a> with <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/mqtt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mqtt</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/octoprint" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>octoprint</span></a> <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/mosquittomqttmessagebroker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mosquittomqttmessagebroker</span></a> and other services. If I can get a new <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/raspberrypi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>raspberrypi</span></a> 4, I will totally <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/selfhost" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>selfhost</span></a></p>
