FRESH TECHNO BEETS
Nothing like a deep driving beat to recover from a Monday-induced migraine, amiright? Of course, so let's party!
Flashback to 1991 -> Aged 19 I was hired as resident DJ @ BBC Club, SKiathos, Greece (largest Club on the Island). I took 30kg Vinyl via train there. And bought another 1000DM worth of vinyl in Athens. I Djed to ca. 2000 - 3000 people every night for 90 days without a break. One Mixtape I made there:

I am listening to music created using AI.
A Japanese Metal song is subtly incorporating a brief section of the melody from Macklemore's "Thrift Shop".

I'm slowly accepting that my definition of the most #solarpunk #genre of #music is... labor hymns.
I'm okay with being that kind of person.
Yeah, I do appreciate all the experimental soundscapes, nature sounds, lo-fi and chillhop.
Yet... when I think about building a better future, I feel like I want an invigorating anthem about working together against shared hardship, something carrying as much energy as https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/We_All_Lift_Together
I'm looking for recommendations on vinyl pressing for a short run. Sub 100 copies, maybe even around 50 if that's feasible. It's been a decade since I've recorded and self-released anything so I feel a little lost. I remember there being practically just one plant in the US back then.
There's a lot of single/ultra-low run vanity pressers now it looks like and they're expensive. Would like to avoid the "press a record for your wedding!" types.

Wrote about the first album in 14 years from Alison Krauss & Union Station, which -- #westernmass angle! -- features contributions of a kind from Tim Eriksen of Northampton band Cordelia's Dad. My take, for Paste:

Dock Boggs would often play in mining camps. This became a dangerous occupation as #mining #camps at that time, were known to be rough and violent especially with #miners drinking #moonshine.
He was rediscovered by Pete Seeger.

I just learned about Clipping's new album, and I see the title comes from "Neuromancer" — the whole album has a cyberpunk vibe. Excited to listen to it: https://clppng.bandcamp.com/album/dead-channel-sky
It's no joke: take up to 95% off on everything in my music catalog (including my already-discounted complete discography) for the next day! Go to https://sockpuppet.bandcamp.com/ and use code LOOFLIRPA. Download it all and see if there's anything you like!
