Cyclamen are popular houseplants here in Germany. They delight us in winter with blossoms in delicate shades of white, pink or red.

Good day!

Cold, with periods of rain, but I’ll walk.

A stranger asked, yesterday, if I had anything fun planned. I mentioned editing, which led to my book & she became excited. As I walked away, I could hear her repeating the title so she wouldn’t forget.

The things that happen when you oversleep & can’t think straight.

Be everwell.

Against an otherwise blue sky, a single cloud is shaped as if a giant hand about to grasp an object. Silhouetted in the middle of that imaginary grasp is a large bird.

Dont "Moss" with colors:
If you concentrate on the simple things, you get something like this. A small cushion of moss in a flower pot photographed in the right light and then the white balance adjusted just a little. And I emphasize: a little bit. The colors come from the background and together they make a very nice combination, I think.

Wenn man sich auf die simplen Sachen konzentriert, kommt so etwas heraus. Ein kleines Moospolster in einem Blumentopf im richtigen Licht fotografiert und anschliessend den Weissabgleich ein kleines Bisschen angepasst. Und ich betone: ein kleines Bisschen. Die Farben stammen vom Hintergrund und zusammen ergibt das ganze eine sehr schöne Kombination, wie ich finde.

Man sieht ein Moospolster in einem Blumentopf im Abendlicht fotografiert. Durch die Wahl einer grossen Blende entsteht eine künstlerische Unschärfe; Vorder- und Hintergrund scheinen ineinander zu fliessen. Das Licht im Hintergrund ist farbig: blau, rosa, weiss und das Moos im Vordergrund gelblich, orange, grün. So entsteht ein schöner Farbkontrast.

You can see a cushion of moss in a flower pot photographed in the evening light. The choice of a large aperture creates an artistic blur; the foreground and background seem to flow into each other. The light in the background is colored: blue, pink, white and the moss in the foreground is yellowish, orange, green. This creates a beautiful color contrast.

A peaceful January evening at Eagle Lake, CA. This area, known as "Heart Failure," once had more water and was a prime fishing spot. The name might come from the sharp turn on the icy road leading here—definitely not for the faint of heart!

With the fishing season closed and mild weather, only a thin layer of ice formed on the lake, beautifully reflecting the pastel sky as the sun dipped below the horizon. Moments like these make winter strolls unforgettable.
