Donald Roy<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@randahl" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>randahl</span></a></span> </p><p>As he is someone who was brought up in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/southafrica" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>southafrica</span></a> it seems surprising that <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/elonmusk" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>elonmusk</span></a> was not aware of the existence of a substantial area in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/mozambique" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mozambique</span></a> that was settled by <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/nguni" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nguni</span></a> speaking migrants/refugees following warfare further south in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/kwazulu" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>kwazulu</span></a> early in the nineteenth century just as other <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/nguni" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nguni</span></a> speakers - the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ndebele" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ndebele</span></a> - established themselves in parts of <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/zimbabwe" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>zimbabwe</span></a> at the same time. The world has many places with identical names which are a long way apart. Basic geography!</p>
