Rclone can back up to </span><a href="https://rclone.org/overview/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span>many different cloud storage providers</span></a><span><br>Currently, I use both a local HDD and Google Drive. I chose Google because it offered the cheapest price for the amount of data I have (about 120 GB): I pay $30 per year for Google's 200 GB storage plan.<br><br>In an effort to reduce my reliance on Google, I am interested in switching to another provider. <br><br>The first issue is cost. I'm not an engineer. I don't have a huge salary and I have high medical expenses. So I don't want to switch to a provider that's much, much more expensive than what I'm paying now. <br><br>The second-cheapest option I've found is </span><a href="https://www.pcloud.com/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span>pcloud</span></a><span>, which has a $50 per year option for 500 GB. That's more than I'm paying now, but it would also allow me to back up more things (notably, I am not currently making remote backups of all my emails and videos). They also have a "lifetime" option that costs four times as much as the annual plan, but "lifetime in the cloud" isn't actually lifetime. <br><br>But does PCloud have some terrible drawback I should know about? Do they have a parent company doing evil things? I don't think they provide end-to-end-encryption, but I am encrypting my data myself before sending it to the cloud anyways. <br><br>I checked several NextCloud providers and they are all a lot more expensive if you have over 100 GB of data. Proton Drive and Box are also a lot more expensive. Are there other options I should consider?<br><br>Note that while I do make local backups, I'm not comfortable "local only."<br><br></span><a href="https://transfem.social/tags/CloudStorage" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#CloudStorage</a><span> </span><a href="https://transfem.social/tags/CloudBackup" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#CloudBackup</a><span> </span><a href="https://transfem.social/tags/LocalBackup" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#LocalBackup</a><span> </span><a href="https://transfem.social/tags/RClone" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#RClone</a><span> </span><a href="https://transfem.social/tags/ProtonMail" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#ProtonMail</a><span> </span><a href="https://transfem.social/tags/ProtonDrive" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#ProtonDrive</a><span> </span><a href="https://transfem.social/tags/NextCloud" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#NextCloud</a><span> </span><a href="https://transfem.social/tags/PCloud" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#PCloud</a><span> </span><a href="https://transfem.social/tags/Google" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Google</a><span> </span><a href="https://transfem.social/tags/GoogleDrive" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#GoogleDrive</a><span> </span><a href="https://transfem.social/tags/E2EE" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#E2EE</a></p>
