This has to be good enough for a faculty position right? like it's a pretty nice spread of topics, and like my main research direction of proof repair has a bunch of follow up works?????

If I somehow manage to sort out the rest of my life, I feel like I could really kill it as a researcher

(this was also made in
#racket btw)

Fear of Macros by Greg Hendershott is pretty good.

It starts with macros defined as syntax transformers, i.e. procedures that take a syntax object and return a syntax object, and continues with all the amenities of syntax-case and syntax-rules... and I am still reading it and only got to chapter 4...

" #Zuckerberg and #Bezos responded to Trump’s threats to themselves and their businesses by literally journeying to Mar-a-Lago and figuratively handing #Trump envelopes of cash while publicly praising the incoming president.

There is no way to view this except as a protection #racket. They are paying Trump and praising Trump in the hopes that Trump will make sure nothing unfortunate happens to their nice little businesses."

Breaking news: the proposal for a #Lisp assembly at #38c3 has been accepted! This is so exciting!

38c3 is the 38th edition of the Chaos Communication Congress, the annual hacker conference happening in Hamburg, Germany from 27th to 30th December. Roughly speaking, a Congress assembly is a space that's made available for a self-organised group, to collaborate, organise workshops, talks, etc. around a specific project or area of interest.

Do you want to install something, but forgot if it's 'install', '--install', '-S', 'add' or 'update'?

Packager is a small script that detects which package managers you have, and rewrites your command.

Proceeds go NOT to #Trump’s #campaign but to a company he created for the #racket.

Don’t care for the cards? “I have a FANTASTIC new Book coming out in two weeks, ‘SAVE AMERICA,’” Trump also posted this week. “I hand-selected every Photo.” This one is $99, or $499 signed; proceeds go to a company founded by Donald Trump Jr.

These follow other #grifting ventures by Trump: sneakers, bibles — you name it.

tl;dr This is to gather feedback around a potential all-things-Lisp assembly at #38c3. Reply and retoot as you see fit.

As always, #37c3 was a blast for me, but I was slightly surprised by the lack of Lisp-related events/assemblies, at least that was my perception. Let's fix this!

What are your feelings about organising a 38c3 Lisp assembly around our favourite family of programming languages? I'm glad to collect ideas and put together a short proposal when the call for assemblies opens.

Other than spreading the word and collecting feedback, my to-do list includes:

- Understand process and timeline around sending an assembly proposal.
- Organise things via some shared repository or wiki.

I'm tagging this with a few Lisp-related keywords that are of particular interest to me or that I'm aware of, but I'm sure this can be extended much further. What other projects/groups should I include and/or reach out to?
