MikeDunnAuthorTrump throws out rules that nominally kept immigration raids out of schools and churches. This should come as no surprise, in light of his threats, but it definitely ups the ante. School districts in the SF Bay area have been sending home administrative memos saying that kids will be protected at schools, that none of their personal info will be shared with ICE, that admin will not cooperate with ICE. But does anyone really believe that superintendents and principals will put their bodies on the line to protect students? Or defend their teachers who try to protect their students? Trump has also threatened to arrest authorities who do not comply, including governors and mayors who support sanctuary cities, drawing further into question how long and aggressively school admin will be able to resist.And let's not forget the terror this creates. Already, families are talking about keeping their kids home from school, in spite of the assurances from admin, because they don't trust the cops, or the school admin. And it's not just school, either.
