Graveyard with Cat in Moonlight, in celebration of Halloween.
Sketching new,old and abandoned graves, some pristine, some neglected . A cat ran ahead of me, then stood on top of a flat gravestone, outlined in light, casting a dark shadow.

My interpretation is of this scene at night, with a full moon.

During yesterdays walk in Dorf Mecklenburg (when I took those pics of the church there) I went to the #medieval #remains of the #earthworks of the #obotritic #centre of #Weligrad or #Mikelenburg, from which the western part of the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern derives its name.

Mentioned as "Nakons Castle" by the trader Ibrahim Ibn Jacub in 965, the mass of the slawonic fortress is still impressive.

Today the walls, covered by trees, protect the local graveyard.

In the area between the walls, the former centre of the slawonic fort, the graves of the modern graveyard and a small chapel can be seen.

Auschwitz II-Birkenau. Ruins of gas chamber and crematorium IV.

The gas chamber was divided into three smaller rooms and had a total of 236.78 square meters. The crematorium had one eight-oven furnace.

The building was set on fire by the #Sonderkommando prisoners during the revolt on 7 October 1944:
