I know the odds for this are slim, but my partner #lost his bag which had the red hat I knit him for Christmas. He got in a car at #SFO yesterday/Sunday and the #driver wasn't using an app, quoted him a price higher than Uber, with no official means of receipt (meaning work won't reimburse him), so he got out, but accidentally left his leather bag in the back seat.

If you know anyone who drives at the #SanFrancisco airport or in the #BayArea, please pass this message to them! My partner will pay $150 for the bag and its contents (clothes, a cheesy love note I packed for him, and a red knit hat - cat not included).

I'm studying the interaction between spatial coding in the #hippocampus and reward representation by #dopamine signaling, especially the VTA - Nucleus Accumbens pathway.
Doing ephys extra-cellular recordings in freely mooving rats trying to catch some chocolate milk!

The influence of #reward (#motivation) on memory is often researched using the Motivated Learning Task. In this paradigm, participants learn stimuli associated with different amounts of reward, which is paid out for correct recognition later.

Example trials of the Motivated Learning Task (here the version we used in our experiment 1). Every trial starts with a fixation (here: a spyglass, which fits our pirate cover story), followed by a reward (here: chests filled with different amounts of gems). After another fixation, a stimulus (landscape picture) is presented which participants have to memorise. Lastly, participants have to solve three trials of a flanker task to prevent them from rehearsing the pictures. A trial in the memory test begins with a fixation (a shovel), followed by a stimulus. Participants have to decide whether the stimulus is old (they saw it during learning) or new (it was never presented before). Next, they judge the confidence in their decision. In our experiment 1, we additionally asked participants which reward they expected to receive whenever they identified a picture as old.
