good feedback! i think #furiphone has support for #android apps (#waydroid iirc?) and back in the day so did #jolla / #sailfish - i think you can get those on a #sony these days

also i've run android-x86 in vm and its alright but idk what those apps are gonna try. supposedly only finance apps are allowed by google to check for a rooted phone but ... who knows peabee.substack.com/p/everyone

Just going to say it, Sailfish OS needs to be on more devices. Personally, I wish it were available in Southeast Asia.

Even on a PinePhone, missing port functionality and meager hardware, it is evidently a very good OS. It is (mostly) open-source, stewarded by a company based in Europe, has a rather slick UI, and has comparable security with the major mobile OSes.

@fasnix oooh I wanted one of those intex #sailfish phones so badly! I would check the forums — forum.sailfishos.org/ This group inherited the same community of diehard Meego Harmattan fans that kept the #Nokia #N9 alive for ages, including rescripting firmware etc.

Also tagging @flypig and @piggz (unrelated, despite pigs in usernames, hmm) in case they have info or pointers.

This sounds so appealing, @cyberlyra. A cursory investigation suggests that it's tricky to get #Sailfish on a Jolla (or another) device in the USA. with ATT (or another) carrier. What resources would you recomment for the US-based Sailfish-curious?
