I'm slightly surprised the offender didn't get a whole life order in this case (3 #murders using an illegally obtained #firearm) even though he was young, but he will remain in #prison for longer than I am likely to be alive!

I still think there's an anomaly with #sentencing for #murder in #England / #Wales - those who target people known to them seem to get get shorter #sentences than those who attack strangers

I have waited until the #Court case and sentencing was finished before commenting on this (a legal requirement, you can get in a whole heap of trouble for not complying with it), but throughout I had suspected the defendant had a previous history of fighting and violence (disclosed in #sentencing, its not always disclosed to the jury during the case), as well as long term #alcohol and #drugs use (which can lead to impulsive behaviour) #crime #Darlington #murder

A divided #SCOTUS refused to delay #Trump’s #sentencing in his #HushMoney case, clearing the way for the president-elect to face judgment in a #NY courtroom on Friday & to be formally classified as a #felon before he returns to the #WhiteHouse.

The Supreme Court of the United States exists only to do what is needed to advance the far-right agenda

All references to #Textualism and #Originalism and the meaning of the law as it exists are a fraud
