Habt ihr mitbekommen, dass Russland jungen Frauen (um die 20 Jahre alt) aus dem globalen Süden Flüge spendiert, damit sie an der Hochschule #Alabuga (ca. 1000 km östlich von Moskau) studieren können?

Klingt zu gut um wahr zu sein, klar. Vor einem Monat berichtete die Nachrichtenagentur AP, dass die Frauen unter ständiger #Überwachung genötigt werden, militärische Kamikaze-#Dronen iranischer Bauart zu montieren, die massenhaft gegen die #Ukraine eingesetzt werden.

Vielleicht habe ich davon nicht erfahren, weil das nicht direkt mit D zu tun hat, dachte ich. Aber das stimmt nicht. Wie zuvor bekannt wurde, wird die russische Rüstungsfirma in Alabuga auch aus Deutschland beliefert. Allerdings nicht mit Sklavinnen, sondern mit #Epoxidharz. Das ist kein spezifisch militärisches Material, sondern #dualUse. Aber es gibt noch mehr Verbindungen nach D:

Wie bei Wikipedia zu lesen ist, handelt es sich bei der iranisch-russischen Drohne wahrscheinlich um einen Nachbau der israelischen #Harpy-Drohne, die wiederum auf der Drohne #DAR des deutschen Rüstungsunternehmens #Dornier aus Zeiten des kalten Kriegs basiert.

PS: In D ist Alabuga (so der tartarische Name) anscheinend besser unser seinem russischen Namen #Jelabuga bekannt.

#TIL the "value" of the slaves one of my relatives "owned" back in 1857 and now I'm sick to my stomach. 😭

(I was looking over some of my family's ancestry docs. It's one thing to know your family tree includes slave owners, which I already did. It's quite another to discover some of the nuance of what that actually meant.)
