At least, I got one just a few days after the bite, that's good to work on the trauma I guess ..

Snakes alive — about 2,000 for your viewing pleasure on Colorado 'RattleCam'
“If you have a whole bunch of expectant mothers together, they don’t all give birth exactly at the same time. Essentially, what you have is the opportunity for other mothers to babysit for the mother that actually has given birth to those pups.”
The common European viper, vipera berus, is endangered here, and we very rarely see them.
In fact, the vast vast majority of vipers I've seen have been roadkill, run over by bicycles or cars.
This small male was probably lying on the road, enjoying the warm asphalt and warm spring sunlight, when the car in front of me ran it over.
I've never seen one before in this region. Such a shame. #snakes
Anyone here familiar with snakes?
Is this a Aspisviper? Seen today on around 1800 m on dry and sunny terrain.
i love these little garter snakes. they were all slithering around the forest floor next to (and across) the path i was on. since all the leaves and grass are still dry i could hear them before i could see them. they were just doing lots of exploring of their little world and looking at me with mild curiosity before moving on to look for nice spots to sit in the sun
Spring fever. After a relatively rough winter, things are warming up and the forest is humming with tree frogs, wood frogs, and spring peeps. Ramps (Allium tricoccum) are starting to emerge in our ramp beds. And we've set up a bee hive. Best of all, first snake of the year: an eastern garter snake (Thamnophis sirtalis sirtalis). #frogs #athensoh #snakes #bees #spring

Found the head of pest control taking it pretty easy on the job this morning in the shed ... Diamond Python (Morelia spilota spilota) at Corunna, NSW ...
Numeric hotel blinds.
After decades of staring at logfiles and keys, I immediately knew it was a repeating pattern, not random, because I can see the "snakes".
Can you see the #snakes? #programming
Feel free to decode this if you have a minute.
They say the green water snake in Botswana is harmless but I was still creeped out! Photographed in the Chobe river in Botswana!

First herp of the season. (Not counting my porch lizard friend who lives under the chair.) Near Ajo, AZ
I'm guessing Western Patch-nosed Snake, Salvadora hexalepsis.
Edit: herpetologist friend confirms the ID.
My first snake sighting in the Year of the Snake 2025, and it's a beauty. The Blue Malaysian Coral Snake (Calliophis bivirgatus), spotted at Thomson Nature Park on 23 Feb 2025. A highly venomous snake, this one was quite calm and not bothered by the crowd watching it (it did not raise its tail as a warning). After spending some time on the walking path, it went back into the forest.
