I've been to a demonstration of the Trans Day of Remembrance in Berlin. It was really sad to hear so many names being read out loud.
I couldn't help thinking that next time it could be me or someone I love whose name gets read.
Everyone there was sad. People were hugging and hoping for a better future. At least I could see that I'm not alone. We are a community.

For Trans Day of Remembrance today I want to highlight trans authors, please feel free to reply to this with your recommendations and I'll boost them.
I'll start with my recommendation:
Light From Uncommon Stars by Ryka Aoki

and my review of it from 2022 when I read it:
My ancestor altar, arranged for the Transgender Day Of Remembrance. Lengthy caption.
“As well as a time to remember those lost to violence, and to raise awareness of hate, Trans Awareness Week is also about honouring those who fought so hard for the community and for their right to exist.”

Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR).
Every year on November 20, we remember the people we lost to transphobia.
On #TDoR2024, Trans Day Of Remembrance, I would like to remember the unseen victims in countries without an effective press.
The TDoR statistics might have you believe some countries are more dangerous than others, because a high number of reports come from them. They may well not be very safe, but the figures represent media coverage and are thus heavily influenced by press freedom.
So remember please the unknown victims, in countries where their deaths are never reported.
It was two degrees when we got home last night
By contrast this is what I was wearing yesterday (and Monday )
Airport and flight was pretty gross as per usual but I did get a laugh out of the woman on security
Had a couple of amazing cookies and some empanadas at a cafe before we left, while my wife finished off some work
Somehow I only managed 3 empanadas, and half a serve of patatas bravas on the whole trip
Had some good potato/onion tortilla tho, and I love the tostada ceveza sin alcohol (50cents a can )
I’d say I’m ready to hibernate until march but alas I have maintenance to do
Will hopefully get to the TDOR memorial this afternoon if my energy levels are ok
Today is the Transgender Day of Remembrance.
This is what we know about the #trans folks we have lost since 1st October 2023:
