Joan of Cat (she/her) 😼<p>Yoshi P's supposed "time bubble" has finally popped for me.</p><p>Supposedly, Yoshi P has decided that all of <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/FFXIV" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FFXIV</span></a> happens in a <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/time" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>time</span></a> bubble so that the <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/Calamity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Calamity</span></a> happened five years ago whether we're in <em>A Realm Reborn</em>, <em><a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/Heavensward" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Heavensward</span></a></em>, <em><a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/Stormblood" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Stormblood</span></a></em>, <em><a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/Shadowbringers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Shadowbringers</span></a></em>, or <em><a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/Endwalker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Endwalker</span></a></em>.</p><p>NOT SO!</p><p>Patch 2.2 (part of the post-<a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/ARR" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ARR</span></a> era) introduces a new step in the creation of the ARR <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/relic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>relic</span></a> <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/weapons" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>weapons</span></a>: the <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/Zodiac" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Zodiac</span></a> Weapons. In the <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/quest" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>quest</span></a> "Up in Arms," the character of <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/Jalzahn" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Jalzahn</span></a> is introduced, an alchemist arrived from distant Radz-at-Han to improve your Zodiac <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/weapon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>weapon</span></a> further.</p><p>This is the first time Jalzahn and <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/Gerolt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Gerolt</span></a> ever meet.</p><p><strong>Patch 2.2 came out on March 27, 2014.</strong></p><p>Patch 3.2 (part of the post-Heavensward era) introduces a new quest named "Kettle to the Mettle," which completes construction of a special "relic" <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/kettle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>kettle</span></a> made by both Gerolt and Jalzahn working together. During that quest, as Gerolt and Jalzahn finally complete the masterwork kettle, Drake comes in to reveal that the order for the kettle took so long to fulfill that the client cancelled their order.</p><p>"When was this order placed?" <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/Drake" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Drake</span></a> is asked. Drake then reveals that it was placed <strong>two years before</strong>. Gerolt is justifiably upset because he will no longer make the <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/gil" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>gil</span></a> he had planned to make from the sale of that kettle.</p><p>During an argument that breaks out between Jalzahn and Gerolt, Gerolt winds up stating the following:</p><p>"Hold on a minute! It's all comin' back to me now! <strong>This order came in 'round the time you barged in here, rantin' and ravin' about yer godsforsaken Zodiac Weapon</strong>, distractin' me from me work!"</p><p><strong>Patch 3.2 came out on February 23, 2016.</strong></p><p>That's right. According to <strong><em><a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/canon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>canon</span></a> <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/lore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>lore</span></a></em></strong>, the time between Patches 2.2 and 3.2 is approximately two years. 🤯​</p><p>So, if you're an RPer, and you <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/RP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RP</span></a> that time passes in the land of <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/Eorzea" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Eorzea</span></a> at the same rate as it does on the world where we, the players, reside, you've been doing it right.
